When choosing a Safe Place please make sure it is somewhere you have not been before; it can be real or imagined, it can be something you have seen in a magazine or just somewhere you have always wished to go to. The reason I ask for somewhere new is that it will not have any negative past association attached to it.
There are also three figures that you will create and find there; a nurturing figure, a protective figure and a wise figure.
These figures can be animal, vegetable, mineral, magical, mystical, political, historical, superhero, archetypical or anything else you wish; however again, please nobody you have known or know because of the potential negative association.
Please listen with HEADPHONES and not when driving.
Learn to relax your nervous system using Certified EMDR Trauma Therapist Carmel Clark’s Bilateral Relaxation Meditation to calm your body, mind and soul.

Bilateral relaxation meditations enable the balancing of the left/right hemispheres of the brain, to create equilibrium and homeostasis; a sense of peace and tranquility moves a triggered or stressed mind from the sympathetic nervous system of fight, flight, freeze mode to the parasympathetic nervous system of rest and digest.
The value of creating a balanced and calm mind, body and soul is universally needed today more than ever and in under 20 minutes we can change our experience from the hormones of stress; cortisol and adrenaline, to the happy and loving endorphins of dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin.
