Work continues briskly at Giga Texas and we now know the primary survey company that is doing all of the measurements needed to construct the main Giga Texas complex. Its Payne Industries of San Marcos, Texas. They are starting 27,000 survey points (construction staking) around the perimeter and are on contract to complete this work within 60 days.
In addition, I’ve included a discussion of GeoTextile Membranes and how they are being used at Giga Texas and then we follow along some earth movers to see they work they are doing.
As for other major updates for today, there is significant activity in the south “swamp” area where dirt filling and compaction activities are eliminating some of the ponds in that area. Also, the “north” swamp area is almost completely devoid of trees and water and there is a lot of fill dirt now deposited and ground levelling so that it is quickly becoming flat. Soon, this entire area will be flat and unrecognizable from just a week earlier.
That’s it for Giga Texas today, 6 August. Progress continues to be swift and I hope this video showing a bit more information about fill dirt and how much they likely need to import in from off-site helps. Stay tuned for more and make sure you subscribe to my channel for this and other bonus videos of Giga Texas.
