Signs that recovery in the world's number two economy is faltering - fresh coronavirus outbreaks and supply disruptions, a drag on retailers, factory owners and property investors alike. Retail sales growth plunged to the slowest since August 2020, as COVID-19 restrictions held back consumer spending. Factories also churned slower, with industrial production easing to its weakest level since July 2020. Meanwhile, the property sector is also under stress. New home prices in 70 major cities continued their downward trend, growing at the slowest pace in eight months.
