Gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed, who was taken out of Sabarmati jail in Gujarat is presently being transported to Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj amid tight security arrangements. The gangster is expected to arrive in Prayagraj by today evening. According to the details received by India Today, the convoy briefly halted at many places, including at Jhansi Police Lines and Shivpuri district. Atiq Ahmed, who is named in more than 100 criminal cases, including the recent Umesh Pal murder case has also expressed fears of being killed in a police encounter. The police convoy, shifting Atiq from Sabarmati to Prayagraj was being followed by the media, Atiq's sister and lawyers.
