Released in 1959 on an obscure Canadian label by two brothers who never even dreamt of the level of success they would achieve with it. It became a worldwide hit and in the US alone sold over a million copies and topped the charts.
The iconic sound is produced by an instrument called "steel guitar", prominent in country music of the day. The song is an original piece written by the brothers Santo and Johnny Ferina, two Brooklyn boys of Italian descent. The duo struggled to maintain the success in the US, but managed to find their audience in Mexico and South America. Their 1964 cover of Beatles' "And I Love Her" managed to reach the number one spot in Mexico and stay in the charts for 21 weeks. The duo broke up in 1976, with Johnny continuing as an solo artist and performs to this day.

The artwork is based on this Danish single sleeve: [ Ссылка ]
