When products are added to a sales order, if there is no stock these are automatically set to backorder. Depending on the business, two things can happen. Either transfer stock from another warehouse or order the backordered products from suppliers. The trick is then keeping track of products ordered from suppliers and making sure they arrive on time for despatch to customers.
