What’s up, fam! In this video, I’ll show you how to make a comfort food staple/classic: baked chicken with gravy all over rice! I could really just drop the mic there and leave this blank, but y’all know I can’t do that (for whoever is even reading this!). This dish is so easy to make and you literally have an entire dish cooking in one pan in a little over an hour! This is the perfect weeknight meal to make when you want to clean out the pantry or cook enough food to feed lots of mouths for multiple days. Y’all I took the time again to show you how I like to prep my chicken, so I’ll show you how I remove the skin, clean the chicken thighs with lemons and limes and a little vinegar to scrub all of the chicken gunk off of its flesh. Then I’ll show you the seasoning I use and give you step by step instructions on how to make the easy gravy that will accompany the chicken and rice! The ingredients I use are all ingredients you’ll most likely already have on hand or can pick up in a pinch. I used bell peppers and onions, then lots of savory spices that all complement and play off of each other! Like I always say, this meal is very customizable and you can scale and/or alter the ingredients to suit your preferences. Hope y’all enjoy!
INGREDIENTS
- bone in chicken thighs, cleaned and skin removed (optional)
- 2 ½ cups water for gravy (might not need all of it!)
