Welcome to Fusz Hall.
Home to more than 200 students, Fusz Hall is a favorite gathering spot on Saint Louis University’s campus, with fire pits on a large patio outside and popular dining options in the Billiken’s Lair food court on the first floor.
Located along West Pine Mall, Fusz Hall offers a great location near SLU’s Campus Ministry, Center for Global Citizenship, Simon Recreation Center and Pius Memorial Library. Fusz Hall is also attached to one of SLU’s three museums, the Museum of Contemporary Religious Art.
Standing six stories tall, Fusz Hall has study space, community lounges and kitchenettes on each floor. A chapel is located off the lobby on the first floor.
Fusz Hall has several different floor plans - let’s take a look.
Single rooms are a popular choice. They come with an extra-long twin bed with a memory foam mattress, a dresser, a desk with several drawers and a desk chair. Each room also has a sink with a medicine cabinet and a large closet with plenty of storage.
The double room has two extra-long twin beds, as well as two dressers, desks and chairs. Rooms also include sinks with medicine cabinets and roomy closets for each roommate. There are also two doors in many doubles, giving each roommate their own entrance.
In addition to the standard double, Fusz Hall has a limited number of “double deluxe rooms'' available at an additional cost that have an attached half bath with a sink and toilet. Communal bathrooms and shower rooms are also located on each floor.
Closets in many of the rooms in Fusz Hall include not only room to hang clothes but also built-in drawers and shelves for storage.
So what can you do with the space?
There’s plenty of opportunities to bring in personal touches.
In the single or the double rooms, you can loft the bed to put a futon or anything else you’d like underneath. Some people choose a loft area as a place for a TV and gaming system. Or lift one or more beds, and tuck a dresser or desk underneath, allowing you to put a futon or other seating elsewhere. Lifting a bed and adding an extra long bedskirt underneath is also a popular choice, allowing you room for hidden storage.
In the double, beds can be bunked. Or, put both beds against one wall and arrange the room to create different “zones” for sleeping, study and socializing. You may want to rent or bring a refrigerator and/or microwave but you can also use the communal kitchenettes.
Add additional seating, lighting, a rug and wall hangings to add your own twist to the space. You’ve got lots of options.
Fusz Hall has central air conditioning and you don’t have to worry about bringing blinds - those come with the room. If you’d like curtains, there is room to hang some with a tension rod.
Individual dimensions of rooms may vary so check the floorplans at slu.edu for general measurements.
