HAMILTON, Ohio (WKRC) - A local woman who pleaded guilty to animal cruelty avoided jail time at her sentencing Tuesday.
Ashley Kubilus of Middletown admitted she starved her dog after she turned him over to Joseph's Legacy, an animal rescue group in Butler County. They took care of the golden retriever mix named Marvin, who's now been adopted after gaining enough weight.
Kubilus won't have to serve a six-month sentence if she pays a fine and doesn't violate probation. The judge also said she can't own pets or stay somewhere that has them for the next 15 years.
