Fitting directional LED lighting to your older locomotives makes a huge improvement – and it isn’t difficult.
Following on from my basic DCC conversion video ([ Ссылка ]), I show how to install cheap, bog-standard 3mm bulb LEDs to a late 80s' Hornby Class 37, wire them to my new DCC lighting circuit and how to select the best resistor for the most realistic brightness - in the end a 118,000 ohm one.
Tips along the way include using SUGRU mouldable glue to stick the LEDs in place, working out which direction is which, resistor testing with my custom-made rig [ Ссылка ] and adding the finishing touches using just regular PVA glue.
