This is an easy cell to build . The electrolyte is copper sulfate and sulfuric acid . I use it to recover silver from plated items. Contacts and breaker parts mostly , some silver brazing rod , etc. the copper sulphate cell is easy to operate , doesn’t create fumes and cheap to build.
It’s slow but effective .
The silver falls out as slimes and is recovered later.
So far about 8 grams of silver has been recovered so far .
I have used sulfuric acid and nitric to strip silver , KNO3 electrolytic cell to reverse electroplate to recover silver
I think this is the best way to recover silver from copper .
The silver is captured as slimes and the copper is .999 pure .
About 15 grams have been recovered so far .
