Welcome friends! JacksonWard, known in the early to mid 1900's as the #Harlem of the South, as well as Black WallStreet, gets some well deserved love today. Come along as we walk the streets and see all this Historic District in Richmond Virginia has to offer. From the most iron wrought fencing in the country, minus New Orleans, to all the unique 1800's churches in the area, it is a place with stunning architecture and a real hidden gem in the city. We head to Mama J's for lunch, a soul food staple in the city. A tour of Jackson Ward's most famous residents house, Maggie Walker, is a must visit. The music scene here was thriving as well, with the Hippodrome theatre dominating 2nd Ave and having some of the greatest African American performers of the time grace its stage. Even Richmond own Gwar metal band shows themselves with their well done Gwar Bar in the ward . So lets get on with the show, Jackson Ward everyone! #usa #travel #vlog
