The latest public information on the status of the I-81 Viaduct Project was presented. This presentation focused on the mandated process for evaluating social, economic, and environmental considerations required by various federal and state statutes. The aim of the presentation is to help prepare participants to analyze the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) and formally respond accordingly during the public comment period prior to preparation of the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS). How the public responds to the DEIS during the public comment period will play a large role in determining the final decision. Therefore, it is critical for people be prepared to analyze the adequacy and the implications of the technical analysis provided in the DEIS.
