The first newly recording of Led Zeppelin 1969 in 8 years.
So a big thanks to Vinnie/June72, Z, Charley, and Ian from The Dogs of Doom.
It’s a good recording with Robert a little up front.
It’s also the first show from Led Zeppelins Summer tour in the US.
And it’s a really good one.
From the word go you can feel that they really want to make an impression on the big crowd.
And listning to this almost 52 years later,
I’m pretty sure they did.
I read about a wild crowd here and sometimes you can hear the tension and the band (Robert) almost loose it (You Shook Me).
It is said that the the last number was accidentally never taped.
On Zeppelins own page it is said they played ”How Many Moore Times” and ”Communication Breakdown” but it’s unfortunately left out on this recording.
But what we have is a statement in time.
Side note: First show from Grand Funk Railroad and Janis Joplin was also on the bill.
In later years Robert seems to mention him drinking with Janis, I’ll wonder if this was the day he was referring to?
Brilliant played through out and a very impressive White Summer/Black Mountain Side and a rather peculiar finish of Dazed And Confused from both Plant and Page!
Side note 2: Plant introduce ”You Shook Me” that it’s a song recorded by Muddy Waters when the album have Willie Dixon credit for it.
Enough with my talk…. Enjoy an evening with the mighty Led Zeppelin/GråZon

Tape notes:
This is from a 1st gen reel, the masters are presumed lost.
The rest of the show was taped, but was accidentally erased.
Thanks to Vinnie/June72, Z, Charley, and Ian from The Dogs of Doom for liberating, to Ed for speed correcting and tracking, and to the original taper.
