For this boat tour, I hope you will allow me to indulge in my Royal Navy heritage by quickly showing you around HMS Sabre, a Scimitar Class fast patrol boat based in Portsmouth.

I served for six years in the Royal Navy, but I have never been aboard a Scimitar Class patrol boat, so it was great to be allowed to jump aboard during the 2021 Southampton boat show.

HMS Sabre was built in 1993 and initially was commissioned into the Royal Marines before being handed over to the Royal Navy in 2002.

This fast patrol boat might be nearly 30 years old, but she still packs a punch when she needs to!

Unfortunately, I was not allowed to film the engine room or crew mess in the bow, but I did get a chance to film from where the action happens!
