Extraordinary claims that spy agencies can hack into smartphones, and turn them on remotely to listen in. They come in an exclusive interview from the former U-S intelligence analyst Edward Snowden - wanted by the United States for the biggest leak of secret documents that the world has ever seen. Speaking in his first British television interview, Mr Snowden tells BBC Panorama that the british spy agency, GCHQ can access texts, emails and browser histories and track the phone to a precise location. The government will neither confirm nor deny the claims, but says the agency's work is proportionate, necessary and carried out within "a strict legal framework".
