Plenty of Toolangi 4wd action highlights as these learners discover a few easy 4x4 tracks near Melbourne. The Toolangi State Forest is a great place close to Melbourne for teaching newbies how to play safe in the mud. Most of these tracks are suitable for beginners with the right supervision and equipment.

Track Information - If you're looking for 4x4 tracks near Melbourne, the Toolangi State Forest is a great place to get 4wd action. We started on Spraggs Road and basically followed it through to the end. Main tracks covered on this day included the Luke Creek Track No.1 and Downies Spur Track. Both of these tracks can be a challenge for beginners but chicken tracks are available. These learners also went down the Rocky Track which is doable with the right set up 4wd but not recommended for learners. Going back up this track is a lot harder and risky. Definitely not for beginners. The Rocky Track is steep with plenty of large loose rocks. These guys didn't seem to mind any of the challenges we faced on the day.
