All of the prep work is coming to a head as we plant in 10 types of hardneck garlic into the backyard patchwork garden! I vernalized these bulbs for about 12 weeks in the fridge to simulate winter temperatures, as I'm gambling by growing hardneck garlic in a zone 10b climate.
I also applied 2" of mushroom compost, and 4" of straw mulch to keep the heat down, and buried cloves 4-6" deep as well. We'll see how this goes!
