As the title implies, I'm about to read the common app essay I wrote in the fall of 2019 that got me into fairly competitive schools such as Carnegie Mellon, the University of Washington in St. Louis, and the Illinois Institute of Technology. This is the first part of a video series where I will read my IIT, CMU, WashU and UC Supplements. I put up an Instagram poll a while ago and the vast majority of you approved the idea of this video, so here it is!
My essay concerns the impact running has had on me, how it improved other aspects of my life, and why I will never stop. I just want to say thank you to my family, teammates, coaches, and teachers for everything they've done to facilitate my success on and off the track (or XC course). I wouldn't be in the amazing circumstances I'm in now without them.
I thought it'd be a good idea to revisit what I wrote back in the fall of 2019 before COVID-19 hit and I was in the best shape of my life, and see how I've progressed since from a physical and mental standpoint. Furthermore, I want to share with you all some personal details that define who I am and give advice to rising seniors who may be going through the college admissions process right now.
