英경찰, 런던 브리지 테러 관련 12명 체포
Police in London have arrested twelve people in connection with Saturday night's terror attack, which left seven people dead and nearly 50 others injured.
It was the third terror attack in the country in as many months… and police are continuing raids to track down more suspects linked to attack.
Ro Aram has the latest. Metropolitan Police carried out raids in East London's Barking district on Sunday, where an apartment belonging to one of the three attackers is located.
One of 12 arrested has been released without charge, but four men and seven women are still being detained under terrorism legislation.
The targeted area is still on lockdown as an investigation by the Counter Terrorism Command continues and the so-called Islamic State group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Borough station has reopened and both London Bridge rail and subway stations will reopen at 5 a.m. Monday morning, local time, but the rail station will be exit only.
All three attackers were shot dead by police within eight minutes of receiving the first emergency call shortly after 10 p.m. local time.
Counter-terrorism police said they fired an unprecedented 50 shots at them, adding that they were wearing fake suicide vests.
One civilian was caught in the crossfire, but doctors say the victim will make a full recovery.
The three attackers have been identified, but police say their names will be released as soon as operationally possible.
Prime Minister Theresa May on Sunday said "enough is enough' and called for a beefed-up counter-terrorism strategy.
This could include longer jail sentences for some offences and agreements to regulate cyberspace.
Mrs. May also said the general election will go ahead as planned on Thursday, but all parties - apart from the UK Independence Party - have temporarily stopped campaigning.
The incident, in which people were mowed down by a van and stabbed to death nearby, brought global condemnation from France, Canada, Australia and the U.S., among others.
