In this session, recorded at BIJ ANDREAS in Naarden, trumpeter Eric Vloeimans plays together with pianist Egbert Derix. A duo that know each other through and through and are counted among the absolute top within the contemporary Dutch jazz scene.


Vloeimans is constantly working on many projects simultaneously and moves on different platforms. Eric: “I make music for millions, but I haven't reached all of them yet.”


A new achievement by Vloeimans is a wind music festival with the title ‘Horn of Plenty’. -named after a lesson book by the master himself, for both beginning and advanced musicians.
Over the years Eric Vloeimans has entered into various one-off partnerships with like-minded musicians at home and abroad. The album Bitches and Fairy Tales with pianist John Taylor, bassist Marc Johnson and drummer Joey Baron gave him his first Edison in 1998. His extensive musical resume resembles a Who's Who of contemporary jazz, with greats such as guitarist Nguyên Lê, bass guitarist Jimmy Haslip and drummer Peter Erskine, but also with Holland Baroque and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.
Egbert Derix is a pianist and composer who worked with great musicians like Iain Matthews and John Halliwell. Derix made also an outstanding piano-album called ‘Falco’.
