The Sturgeon 'supermoon' rising (relatively) from behind the Dundee Law on 11-08-2022.

Acquisition:
Shot on a Nikon Coolpix P900 camera.
Lens: NIKKOR lens with 83x optical zoom
Focal length: 4.3-357 mm (angle of view equivalent to that of 24-2000 mm lens in 35mm [135] format).
The P900 only shoots 1080p video and a lot of the video settings do not have any manual controls, so I am limited to what I can control.
First part of the video is shot from Baird Avenue and the second part is shot from Strathmore Avenue.
Why the wobbles and movement?
Well, at that great focal length it is difficult to prevent any wobbles. Even a slight wind can have an effect. I was also adjusting the camera as the earth rotated and the moon was moving into a different position- the idea was to have the moon cover the whole Law War memorial with a friend in frame. You can also see the atmospheric wobbles, especially when the moon was lower to the horizon at the start of the video. This is also why the moon is a different colour and appears less sharp, as opposed to when it's higher in our sky and more of a white colour. Also, the tripod I had the P900 on isn't great.
How did you plan this?
Using an app called PhotoPills. The amazing app allows me to calculate moon, sun and milkyway positions on a map, way in advance. I've tried this shot many times before. I also use the free app 'Stellarium'.
Is this real?
Yes! I've had many people think my pictures of this event was fake. No CGI lol
