Recently I visited my sister in Oakland, CA and she took me to World Famous Hotboys for their fried chicken sandwich and my mind was BLOWN. So once I got home, I scoured the internet for similar recipes so that I could be self-sufficient and eat the sandwich when I'm craving it, instead of needing to book another flight to the west coast.
No offense to Hotboys, but this Nashville Hot Fried Chicken Sandwich KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK. It was beyond flavorful, crunchy, hot, sweet, and it truly did it all and then some. But again, shoutout to Hotboys because they're the reason for this video.

Nashville Hot Fried Chicken Sandwich Topped with Creamy Cole-Slaw & Pickles Recipes:

Sweet Cole Slaw:
1 cup mayo
1/4 cup sugar
2-3 tablespoons dark brown sugar
2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
2 tablespoons dill pickle relish
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
1 bag of coleslaw mix- chopped up in food processor

Mix all ingredients in a large bowl except for coleslaw mix. One mixed, add in coleslaw mix and toss until combined. Refrigerate 1-2 hours before serving.

Fried Boneless Skinless Chicken Thighs:
6 chicken thighs

Buttermilk Marinade:
3 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
2 teaspoon oregano
2 teaspoon paprika
2 teaspoon ground white pepper
2 teaspoon garlic powder
3 cups buttermilk

Mix dry ingredients and then stir into buttermilk. Put the chicken thighs in marinade and chill for 1-12 hours- the longer the better!

Breading:
2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon black pepper

Heat oil to 350- slowly lower dipped chicken thighs into oil- flip after 4-6 minutes until breading is golden and cook for another 4-6 minutes. Lay on a rack for 5 minutes then prepare sandwich

Sandwich:
Potato/Baker Bun
Mayo
Dill Pickle Slices
Fried chicken thigh w/ Hot Sauce
Dollop of Coleslaw
NAPKINS
