I know my spanish accent might not help but probably this little trick will be helpful for some of you my dear guitar buddies or at least it will inspire you to do it your way...Remember that to me, this is only a quick temporary fix, I would take it to a luthier and do the job done properly if I had a good expensive guitar, etc... also you may consider to put some kind or cloth in order to avoid scratching or mark your fretboard if you really care...
