“…the US and the EU announced the global methane pledge at the world leader summit
back in November and we actually back when this was started, it was almost a napkin
idea and so back in August just a few months before we had just started with just about
eight countries and then by September we grew to 32 and by October we were nearing
110 that we announced at cop and so right now we’ve gained more members and pretty
soon there’s gonna be an announcement of a new tranche of endorsers, which is really
exciting.”

The Global Methane Pledge (GMP) aims to reduce methane emissions by at least 30 percent from 2020 levels by 2030. The session demonstrates a science-based roadmap from planning to implementation of sector-specific methane emission reduction activities to reach national GMP targets.
