Rhinoplasty - Narrowing A Wide Nose
I'm Dr Joseph Shvidler and I'm a double board certified facial plastic surgeon currently practicing at the Seattle facial Plastic Surgery Center in Seattle Washington when it comes to narrowing a wide nose there's two widths to the nose there's the width of the top of the bridge of your nose and there's the base width to the nose so if somebody has wide bridge on top usually that involves removing the bump on somebody's nose and narrowing the nasal bones bring the bones together when we talk about reducing the width of the nose we usually talk about making little Cuts in the bone or osteotomies and pushing those bones together to reduce the the base of the nose so usually when people come in to remove their cast they notice immediate results it's very noticeable right away their their noses looks a lot more narrow and you see more highlights in the on the sidewall of your nose and the nose appears to be uh more proportional to their face narrowing the bridge of the nose usually falls under primary rhinoplasty this is probably one of the more common Maneuvers that we perform during primary rhinoplasty but also we perform these Maneuvers during revision rhinoplasties where we make little Cuts in the bone and push the bones together to unite them so the nasal pyramid is nice and narrow and aesthetic looking
