Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe says he will show remorse for Japan′s atrocities during World War Two in his August statement to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the end of the war.
In an interview with Hong Kong′s Phoenix TV on Monday， Abe said Japan regretted its wrongdoings during the war， and the country would contribute more to achieve world peace.
He stressed that his administration shares same historical views of former Chief Cabinet Secretary Yohei Kono and former prime minister Tomiichi Murayama who both made landmark apologies for Japan′s actions during the war.
Abe′s recent remark is noteworthy as it clarifies his will to include words of remorse in the statement， but it′s unclear whether he will use expressions such as colonial rule， aggression or apology.
