Prenatal care is such an important part of pregnancy. It's key to making sure that you and your baby are as healthy as possible. As soon as you find out you're pregnant, you should call your OB provider and make your first appointment. They'll schedule your first appointment depending on if your periods have been regular, or if you know how far along you are. If you're not quite sure, they'll probably want to see you sooner rather than later to establish a reliable due date. But if your periods have been regular, and you're pretty sure where you are in your pregnancy, they may not want to see you until you're about 8-12 weeks along. For sure, you should see a doctor by 13 weeks of pregnancy - that's the absolute latest, and plan on about 13 appointments throughout your pregnancy.
Prenatal appointments are very important because it's an opportunity for the doctor to perform an on-going assessment on you and the growing baby to make sure things are going okay. And if abnormal results are found, they can decide if intervention is necessary before it turns into a bigger problem. It's also a good time for you to ask questions, or for them to educate you on how you can be as healthy as possible during your pregnancy. If you have any other questions for me in the future, feel free to ask them on our Facebook page at [ Ссылка ], and recommend us to your friends and family too.
