-Whether second commutation is allowed to the Pensioners?
• As per Rule 5 of CCS Commutation of pension Rules 1981not exceeding 40% of basic pension can be commuted.
• If already commuted lesser percentage. Second commutation is permissible.
• As per Rule 10 commutation of his final pension can be revised only in the case of revision of pension retrospectively and difference can be paid for that one need not apply. It is automatic.
• Vide DP & PW OM dated 24.10.2016, option introduced to those retired from 1.1.2016 to 4.8.2016 for not to commute pension due to revision of pension.
• There is no provision on second and subsequent occasion within the overall maximum limit of 40% to those commuted earlier less than 40%.
