Black Widow was a British band that debuted right after the Led Zeppelin had made hard-rock a money machine and after King Crimson and Van Der Graaf Generator had invented progressive-rock.
The band changed name to Black Widow and changed style, embracing exoteric and horror themes. The lengthy suite of Sacrifice (1970) brought to the forefront the "dark" elements that were restrained on so many British albums of the era. The sound was very similar to Colosseum's jazz/rock/classic fusion (as in the Valentyne Suite). Come To The Sabbath was the anthemic movement. In Ancient Days was the zenith of pathos. Gannon signed all the tracks.
