$70 million... that's how much a group of #hackers suspected of being behind a mass extortion #attack have asked to restore the data they are holding ransom. The attack, which has already triggered the closing of 800 stores in Sweden, is believed to be one of the biggest #ransomwares ever witnessed. The demand was posted on a blog often used by the REvil cybercrime gang, a Russia-linked group that is counted among the cybercriminal world's most prolific extortionists. The use of these attacks have soared since january 2021, so how do they work? FRANCE 24's Julia Sieger tells us more.
