This year, the President of the Jennings Memorial Association, Scott Neidert, heard about a B-26 bomber that crashed in Jennings Township. He had never heard about this so he dug into the history of it. Scott is an avid historian. Sure enough it happened. In 1942, a WWII bomber B-26 had developed critical equipment failure of some kind and crashed just a few miles outside of Jennings and it killed all 7 men aboard. Scott started to find family. He got ahold of the State and had an Historical Marker made. At Fort Fest this year, there was a dedication of the marker at our museum on Saturday and all the surviving family of 4 men were here from several states. Then Sunday, there was a service held at the site where the marker was then erected on County Road 19. All family members and a lot of town people attended the service. This is a video of the dedication and the service. Scott, thank you for your diligence in getting this memorial to the 7 brave flyers that perished. Now they will be remembered by everyone!
