If the new BMW i4 is Germany's answer to the Tesla Model 3, then the new iX is the company's take on the Model X. It's about the same size as the combustion-engined X5, only it's powered exclusively by electricity - even though it's got a massive 'grille that's not actually a grille' at the front.
It's a proper SUV, too (as in, it's sporty. You know, sports utility vehicle?). In top spec form, the iX delivers in excess of 500bhp, making it more powerful than a BMW M3. It's also cheaper than a Model X, but we don't yet know pricing for the top-spec iX that better matches the entry-level Tesla.
