This is a case of a 63-year-old woman who underwent a minimally invasive mitral valve repair. Transthoracic echocardiogram revealed a posterior leaflet mitral valve prolapse, 3-4+ mitral regurgitation, ejection fraction of 60%, and a left ventricular end diastolic dimension of 5.6 cm. Coronary angiography showed no coronary disease and right heart catheterization revealed normal pulmonary pressures. She was seen in consultation and deemed a candidate for minimally invasive (MI) mitral valve repair via right minithoracotomy.
