This may or not be a new practice, but its the first time it has been caught on camera. We know other animals eat rocks to aid with digestion (elephants), eat rocks from a cliff for minerals (a species of parrot) and more, but this is medicine and how our human ancestors in the distant past may have begun using plants to heal.
