Went to the Lakes intending to summit Helvellyn and sleep at Red Tarn, but didn’t get on trail until almost sunset. So I settled for a much easier hike and a calm rainy night along one of the quiet lakes. You just can’t go wrong in the Lake District. Hope you enjoy!
Side note. I know campfires are not allowed and I would absolutely not recommend it. On the beach, near where I camped there was a pile of half burnt firewood. I was getting eaten alive by the midges and I knew I could safely dispose of the wood by burning it to ash and leave no trace. I always try to leave a place better than I found it.
