Rivers flow in channels, carving out deep valleys and gorges and shaping the land as they flow to the ocean.

The River Nile is the worlds longest river, stretching over 6,695kms!

Sadly, our rivers are being polluted by chemicals and sewage. It’s estimated over 400 million tonnes of waste is put into our rivers and oceans every year! 

The start of every river is called the source and the end is the mouth.

There are many other smaller rivers called tributaries, that will join the main river before they reach its mouth.
