Enjoy cooking with Learnandenjoy | Fresh Green Almonds Stew
The ingredients:
1. Fresh Green Almonds 300 gr.
2. Mint and parsley 300 gr.
3. Meat 300 gr.
4. Onion 1 medium
5. Sour grapes as you need
6. Salt, black pepper, turmeric as you need
7. Dried lime powder 1 teaspoon
How to cook
To start, we need to cook meat separately. To do so, chop one medium onion finely. Then put a pot on the stove, add oil and the chopped onion and sauté.
Meanwhile, cut the fresh green almonds into halves. You can also use them as whole.
When the color of onion changes a little, add pieces of meat to it and stir till the color of meat changes. Now, add spices: salt, black pepper, turmeric, and dried lime powder. Stir till mix well. Now, add about two or three glasses of water to the pot, when it starts boiling, put the lid and let the meat cook well.
Meantime, put a pan on the stove, add some oil to it, add green almonds and sauté. Stir till their color changes a little. When their color changes, they are ready.
Now, add fresh almonds to the meat, and mixture of mint and parsley that you have fired beforehand. Then add some sour grapes to your taste.
Put the lid and let it cook on low heat for 2-3 hours.
Beside the stew, we need to cook some rice to serve with it. Soak two cups of rice in cold water and a little salt beforehand. Water should cover the rice for about two centimeters and you can add 2 tbsp salt. Then add some oil to it, put the lid and let it cook. You can cook rice in rice cooker as well.
Rice is cooked and our stew is ready to serve. Bon appétit!
