Volvo Cars' first production facility in the United States opened in the summer of 2018 just outside of Charleston, one of the country's oldest and most historic cities. Today, the Charleston plant produces the EX90 and S60 sedan and has the capacity to build up to 150,000 cars per year. In this video, we take you inside the factory to see the production stages of the 2024 Volvo EX90, the first model in Volvo's ambitious plan to introduce a new all-electric car every year. Volvo aims to sell only all-electric cars by 2030 and is working towards its goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2040. Discover the EX90's innovative use of recycled materials, including 15% recycled steel, 25% recycled aluminum and 48 kilograms of recycled plastic and bio-based materials, making it the most sustainable Volvo car yet. You will also learn about the EX90's groundbreaking bi-directional charging technology, which allows the car's battery to power your home, appliances or another electric vehicle. Join us as we explore Volvo's electrifying journey towards a greener future.
