CBSE class 10 Science - Heredity and Evolution - Presence of genes on chromosomes in male and female gametes, together decide which trait will be expressed in the progeny.
In all organisms genes are responsible for transfer of traits from parents to progeny. Every characteristic is linked with two type of genes. By the process of division of chromosomes and formation of gametes to the fusion of these gametes of male and female, different characteristics are transferred from the parents to the progeny.
