A quick instructional/educational video on cutting a synthetic stock to length for a shorter shooter. Discussion on methods and tools used. Remember to be steady and go slow. Measure twice and cut once. Test equipment before using on your hunting rifle. I would recommend roughening up the inside of the stock with sandpaper and wiping down glue surfaces (inside stock and wood block) with acetone or alcohol to clean. Let surfaces dry good then glue. I used an epoxy. Does not include recoil pad fitting or grinding. Many of these videos are already available and it is pretty straight forward.
After grinding the pad to fit I found I began to hit an internal metal piece. Stopping at the metal and finishing the contours left me with a pad that fits about 1/4 inch proud at the bottom of the stock and faded to a nicely matched top at the comb. I used seam grip tent seam sealer to seal up the small spot where metal was encountered. it is very functional and works great. If I were to do it over I would look for a pad that doesn't have a metal center that might be ground down a bit more. This stock is very slim especially when cut down. As always be safe and good luck!
