The flood situation in Assam remained grim on Tuesday with more than 11 lakh people across 20 districts affected during the second wave of flooding in 2024.
The Indian Air Force (IAF) rescued 13 stranded fishermen from the Dibrugarh district, which has been severely hit by the floods, PTI quoted an official as saying.
Thirteen major rivers in the northeast region, including the Brahmaputra, were flowing above the danger level mark at different places, while an alert has been issued for heavy to very heavy rainfall in several districts, as per an official bulletin.
