UltraShape Power is the newest device at Leif Rogers, MD. This device uses focused ultrasound energy to rupture fat cells. These ruptured fat cells are then processed out through the body's lymphatic system.
UltraShape Power is different than CoolSculpting in a few ways. First, UltraShape Power uses ultrasound energy to destroy fat cells while CoolSculpting uses controlled cooling. Because UltraShape Power uses ultrasound energy, the treatment is painless and has less downtime than CoolSculpting. There are some areas like the arms and below the chin where CoolSculpting is more ideal than UltraShape Power because of the type of fat and the location of the treatment area. While every patient is different, CoolSculpting is often better for spot treatments and UltraShape Power is more for larger, more fibrotic, fat areas.
The average treatment time for UltraShape Power is about 90 minutes. Because there is no pain or downtime associated with this treatment, UltraShape Power can be done anytime and you can be back to your everyday routine immediately after treatment.
