Recorded: London UK; Monday 14 November 1966
Broadcast: BBC Radio 'Saturday Club': Saturday 19 November 1966
Note: from this session on billed as "Eric Burdon & The Animals"
The Animals were a consistently solid band with strong musical ideals, and always just a little bit out of place in the competitive music biz. But the world was not standing still and by 1966 they found their popularity was on the wane. Eric Burdon formed a new band with some ace-musicians and continued where the old band had left off, while gradually becoming more confident as a writer which resulted in excellent songs like 'San Franciscan Nights', 'Monterey' and especially 'When I Was Young'. Still, the band broke up without much ado in late 1968.
Enjoy!
