Citizens of Anniston, we are at the height of leaf season, and we want you to know that we have heard your requests for leaf pickup. Thus, we wanted to take this time to explain the leaf pickup process.
To start, the brush pickup schedule is different from our leaf pickup schedule.
Our brush pickup rotates between four (4) sections of the city each week, according to the map and schedule found here: [ Ссылка ]. Our leaf pickup begins each week from where it left off the week prior. Thus, it does #NOT follow the same rotating, weekly schedule as brush pickup.
Loose leaves are picked up by our vacuum truck, and at the height of leaf season, this process takes some time. Therefore, our leaf team is often working the same area for multiple weeks, prior to moving on to the next part of town. You may see what area our leaf team is working in each week, by viewing our street department summary reports that we upload weekly to this page: [ Ссылка ]
These reports will show where our team worked last week, thus know they will pick up from that same area in the coming week. That said, #Bagged leaves may be picked up by the brush team, as they do not require the vacuum truck. So, if you bag your leaves they will be picked up according to the weekly brush schedule. Bagging your leaves is the fastest way to ensure their pick up.
As always, if you bagged your leaves, and it was your area’s week fro brush pickup, and your bagged leaves were not picked up, you may report your missed pickup through our online work order portal here: [ Ссылка ]
In closing, we understand hour requests and we ask for your patience. Our team is diligently working through the height of this leaf season, and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact our public work department Mon. - Fri. from 7:00 AM until 4:00 PM at: 256-231-7742, ext. 272.

For #Tips on ensuring your leaves are picked up, please see the useful information below:
1️⃣ Pile loose leaves on the edge of your yard, but not in the gutter. If they’re in the gutter, they’ll create drainage problems. If they’re too far from the curb, the leaf truck can’t reach them.
2️⃣ Try to get loose leaves all in one place. A single pile is better than a line of leaf piles across your lot.
3️⃣ Bagging is faster. If you bag your leaves, they can be picked up by our brush team.
4️⃣ Keep it separate. Put leaves in one pile and brush in another. If you put brush or garbage on top of leaves, the leaf truck can’t get to the leaves, and the loose leaves will be scattered when the brush truck tries to pick up your brush.
