Whenever you are using any kind of fertilizer, be sure to carefully read the directions. Overdoing it will harm your plants.

This product recommends one cup spread around the dripline of the tree. That means I'm NOT putting the fertilizer down by the trunk. Picture an imaginary ring at the edges of your tree and go down to the ground.

This is where the roots of the plant are growing and will pull in the most nutrients and water.
