Nearly 121 people were killed in a stampede at a religious event in Hathras on July 2. UP CM Yogi Adityanath visited the victims at a government hospital, offering condolences and support. The government announced ₹2 lakh ex-gratia to the families of the deceased. Reports claimed the incident occurred due to godman Bhole Baba's congregation.
