Just after midnight firefighters and medics responded to a reported single-vehicle fatal crash on Sawdust Road just south of Grogans Mill Road. Units arrived on the scene to find a male in his 30s nonresponsive and initiated CPR. Medics worked to try to save the driver but he succumbed to his injuries. In the vehicle with him were his seat-belted 4-year-old daughter, and his 7-year-old daughter. They were transported to the hospital in stable condition. DPS investigated the crash and determined the male was traveling at a high rate of speed east on Sawdust Road. He failed to negotiate the curve, crashing through the guardrail traveling across a grassy median and striking a curb. He was not wearing a seat belt. Rios Funeral Directors transported the victim to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy. The vehicle was towed by Harshaw Wrecker.
