An elite soldier has told a Sydney court that Ben Roberts-Smith described the alleged execution of a terrified Afghan teenager as "the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen".

He was giving evidence in the defamation trial brought by Mr Roberts-Smith.
The SAS soldier said he didn't report the incident out of fear of retribution.
Ben Roberts-Smith has previously denied making the remark.
