Your gaze lifts from the reserve's roads with buck strewn on either side. Ahead, the horizon is broken by brilliant turquoise waters contrasted by pristine white sand dunes. In the distance, you can just make out the rising mist from whales frolicking in their untouched waters. You have arrived.

Ever since our time at Morukuru Beach Lodge, we have been raving about their amazing service, their luxurious offerings and, mostly, their breathtaking vistas... And this was all before they were crowned the BEST RESORT in SOUTH AFRICA!

There is no doubt in our minds that this title (from the Condé Nast Traveler's 2020 Reader's Choice Awards) is extremely well deserved.

For us, though, we will remember something different.

We will remember the nights around the fire in tears from laughter, we will remember meeting one of the most inspiring and respected travel journalists in South Africa, we will remember the Morukuru Family.
